HomeCost Guide publishes in-depth cost guides for US home services — plumbing, HVAC, roofing, water damage, and windows. Every guide is built the same way: from published industry data, broken into line items, checked across sources, and shown with its regional variation.

How we research

Every guide starts from published industry data — contractor surveys and cost databases such as Angi, HomeAdvisor, HomeGuide, and Fixr. We cross-check figures across sources; when they disagree, we publish the wider range and say so. Every figure on this site is cited to its source at the bottom of the page.

What we will not do

• We do not invent prices. If a figure cannot be sourced, it does not go on the site.
• We do not rank contractors or take payment for placement.
• We do not perform home services and are not a contractor.

How the site is funded

When you call a contractor through the call buttons on our guides, we may earn a referral fee from our advertising partners. This never changes the prices shown in our guides.
